25 Things You Didn't Know About Director Pat Diamond

New York Stage Director Pat Diamond shares 25 things you may not know about him.  Diamond will be directing the production of The Curious Women, Shenandoah Conservatory's full-staged opera production this season.

1. I speak English, French, and Italian, and have studied Spanish, Polish, Swedish, and Swahili.

2. I am a real American mutt when it comes to heritage: half Italian (second generation), a quarter Polish, and a mash up of Dutch, Irish, and Mahican (which is the origin of my last name comes).

3. I grew up in New Mexico.

4. I met my wife Elizabeth Hulings (who is New Mexican) in Boston.

5. I am the son-in-law of American Realist painter Clark Hulings, who originally went to NM to work on the Manhattan Project.

6. I was in an improv comedy troupe at Tufts University called Cheap Sox.

7. My favourite TV show is 30 Rock.

8. I really really really like commedia dell'arte (I might even say I love it: marry it? I'm not sure...)

9. I originally went to college to be a diplomat.

11. I worked as a lighting technician on a soundstage in San Francisco.  One of the commercials I worked on was "Beef: It's What's for Dinner."
